more info about this seller:
The Jonas Family is made up of Dad (Jim), Mom (PJ), and our wonderful 8 children - Brett (12), Colter (10), Emery (8), Fletcher (7), Greyden (6), Hewitt (4), Indigo (3), and Jade (1). In case you didn't notice - the children's names are in alphabetical order. We didn't intend to do it, so there is no "A" Jonas. And D was our daughter, Drew, that PJ lost early in the second trimester.
We are a homeschooling family that seeks to honor Jesus in all that we do. The children are learning that "everything is a God issue" - including making and selling soap. My daughter, Brett, always loves to tell people how her favorite subject is chemistry, because soapmaking is basically a chemistry experiment. The children also get their public speaking and marketing courses during festival times when we sell soap.
We live in rural Indiana on a 3 acre homestead. We have dairy goats (obviously), and chickens. At various times in the past we've also had a dairy cow, sheep, turkeys, bees, rabbits, and pigs. But we're trying to simplify (not easy to do with 8 children!).
Colter is the chief family milker. He gets up before anyone (except Jim) and goes out to milk. He does a great job and all the goats love him.
We've been making soap for several years and love it. The whole family is involved and everyone has a specific job: Jim mixes the lye. Colter measures out the oils. PJ, Brett, and Cole make the soap. PJ hand cuts the soap. Jim and the children stack the soap to cure on drying racks. Jim, PJ, and Brett hand stamp the soap bags. And everyone packages - except Jade.
But the best part - the smell! You walk into just about every room in the house and you have no idea that children (especially 5 boys) live here! All you smell are various soap scents! I always tell people that they are free to visit any time. I can't promise my house will be clean, but at least it will smell good! :D
We'd love for you to try our soaps and hope that you enjoy them as much as we do!
