A vey unusual depiction of an armed Ghurka soldier, probably a specific ancestor of the original owner, as a spiritual guardian.  Lime pigment on eyes.  Hardwood, early 20th Century, Middle Hills region of Nepal.  Some weathering and insect depredation on back.  Mounted on black metal base.

Measurements Total height including base 74 cm, width and depth of base 15 cm.
