Two handcarved tribal wooden ancestor figures from the Middle Hills region of Nepal.  A protective lime-based pigment has been used to coat the statues at one time, giving them a beautiful and interesting patina.  Early to mid 20th Century.  Mounted on black metal bases.
Measurements Figure on left: height including base 69 cm, width at base 12 cm, depth at base 12 cm. Figure on right: height including base 66.5 cm, width at base 12 cm, depth at base 12 cm.
